While proactively researching the emerging security event management market, we were introduced to Network Intelligence by one of their partners, Network Engines, who was an Ascent portfolio company. Although the market was in the early stages of development, we were convinced that managing the growing amount of different event information created by security and networking devices would become a critical enterprise requirement.

• Over the course of four years, Ascent assisted with efforts to build an outstanding management team, led by CEO Jack Sweeney, raise additional capital, and develop the company into the leader of the rapidly emerging Security Event Management (SEM) market.
